For Naheed Akhtar, a resident of Karachi’s SITE Area, everyday life gradually became overshadowed by a health condition she could neither understand nor control. What began as prolonged menstruation soon turned into uncontrolled bleeding that refused to stop, leaving her physically exhausted and emotionally drained. As her condition worsened, even the simplest daily tasks became increasingly difficult.
Finding the right medical care seemed daunting. Like many families, Naheed and her loved ones searched for a place where she could receive quality treatment without the burden of overwhelming expenses. One day, her daughter’s friend told them about the Indus Hospital & Health Network. They visited the main hospital in Korangi, where they were guided to a gynaecologist at Sheikh Saeed Hospital, marking the beginning of Naheed’s journey toward recovery.
By the time she reached IHHN, Naheed’s condition had become critical. The continuous bleeding had severely affected her health, and she feared what lay ahead. Yet from the moment she arrived, she felt reassured by the care that she was offered.
“They look after me so well,” she says with gratitude. “I came here in a critical condition, and now I am doing much better.”
What stood out most to Naheed was the expertise of her doctors, and the convenience of receiving comprehensive care under one roof. From medical consultations to diagnostic services and supportive care, every step of her treatment was coordinated with compassion and dignity. Even the provision of free meals during her stay reminded her that her wellbeing mattered beyond her medical treatment alone.
Following a thorough evaluation, her doctors recommended surgery to address the underlying cause of her prolonged bleeding. As she prepares for her operation in the coming days, Naheed feels hopeful instead of fearful.
Looking back, she recognises how life-changing timely access to free, high-quality healthcare has been. Without it, her condition may have continued to deteriorate, placing both her health and her future at greater risk.
Filled with gratitude, Naheed offers heartfelt prayers for the people whose generosity makes this care possible, “May Allah bless everyone who donates, I request everyone to give their Sadaqah and Zakat to IHHN so that patients like me can continue receiving treatment without worrying about the cost.”
