The IDEA team is in Pakistan from October 4–8, 2026, for a five-day humanitarian medical mission in collaboration with Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) and APPNA. This marks the team’s second medical mission with IHHN, with volunteer specialist doctors working at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Hospital (RTEH), Muzaffargarh.
The mission focuses on providing free specialised vascular care to patients requiring complex consultations and surgical procedures.
IDEA’s volunteer specialists are working alongside RTEH’s clinical teams, supported by IHHN through hospital facilities, medical supplies, operating theatre support, recovery facilities and other logistical arrangements.
The mission aims to bridge gaps in access to specialised vascular treatment, particularly for patients who may otherwise face challenges in accessing complex procedures.
Beyond patient care, the collaboration creates opportunities for local healthcare teams to work alongside visiting specialists, exchange expertise and strengthen clinical capacity.
For 58-year-old Syed Wahid Ali, a shopkeeper, the mission provided access to treatment after a difficult health episode. Two months ago, he suffered a heart attack and travelled to Multan seeking care, but faced delays in accessing specialised cardiac services. He later came to RTEH, where he received initial treatment and was subsequently called back when the IDEA team arrived for the required procedure.
The procedure was provided free of cost. Wahid Ali expressed gratitude for the care he received and praised the cooperation of the hospital staff.
“Indus Hospital is a blessing,” he shared, expressing his appreciation for the team and the care provided.
Through collaborations such as the IDEA Medical Mission, IHHN continues to connect patients with specialised care while strengthening collaboration and knowledge-sharing between local and visiting medical teams.
